Starting your adventure in survival mode in VoxeLibre, you will have to build shelter from hostile mobs (spawning during night time) and to find some food to eat to fight hunger and gain health. ==Pick up blocks and build== Target a block of dirt or sand with your hand and click and hold the left mouse button. After a few seconds, the block will be put in your inventory. You see this block now in the action bar of your HUD. To use an item, it has to be in the action bar. Click on i shows your inventory: You can easily click+drag items from the inventory (the three line grid above the action bar) into the action bar and vice versa. To activate another slot of your action bar, just use the numbers of your keyboard from 1 to 9. As you have a block of dirt now in your action bar, you can place this block somewhere by clicking the right mouse button. As hostile mobs will spawn during night, collect about 30 blocks of dirt and build a wall around you to form a small, 2x3 blocks wide room. As players have a height of 2 blocks, you have to build your hut at least two blocks high. If the night arrives, seek shelter in your hut. Next step is to build some tools: Find some trees near your hut and collect the wood. Put the collected wood blocks in one of the 2x2 crafting grid in your inventory and drag the resulting wood planks from the result slot in your inventory. Put now 1 wood plank in each of the four crafting slots. In the result slot to the right, you see now a crafting table. Drag it in a free slot in your action bar and place it inside your hut. Right click on your crafting table opens a new window, showing the 3x3 crafting grid with result slot above your inventory. Left click on the green book to show your recipe book. In the beginning, it is pretty empty, but you will gain more recipes by collection more different blocks. To build simple tools, you will need wood sticks and wood planks. Build a pickaxe on your crafting table and use it collect some blocks of stone (you will see cobblestone in your inventory). You can build now your first stone tools. You will find iron and diamonds to make much harder tools later in the game. ==Find food== Starting the game, your health bar (the red hearts above your action bar) and your hunger bar will be full. But you will become hungry. And if you encounter hostile mobs that attack you, you will lose health points. You will need to find food to restore hunger points and replenish health points. Food items have different food points. Simply said, you have to eat more of food with low food points then of food with high food points. To eat, you have to put the food item in the action bar and click and hold the right mouse button. Meat from animals will give you more food points if cooked. And there is some food adding some positive or negative effects, as clearing poison, poisoning, additional hunger or others.
